4. Empty out homework folders of ALL graded papers. Only new homework and SIGNED tests should be in homework folders.

Tuesday, November 1
Quran test on 9 surahs (Fatiha, Nas, Falaq, Ikhlas, Masaad, Nasr, Kawther, Fil, and Humaza)

Wednesday, November 2
1. Math test on chapter 2 (addition)
Students will receive practice work in preparation for this test. They can also go back in their math book to review lessons.

2. Arabic test

Thursday, November 3
Unit 1 Comprehension Assessment (covers concepts taught in weeks 1-5)

Students will receive practice work in class and for homework to review what the test will cover.

Friday, November 4
Unit 1 Comprehension Assessment (covers concepts taught in weeks 1-5)
Students will take half this test on Thursday and will finish the other half on Friday. A total of 4 periods will be given and should be enough time for students to complete all the questions.

Character Day Diorama Info.

Students have received a handout about their character day diorama projects that they MUST complete.

Shoeboxes and construction paper can be provided if students ask.

Dioramas must be of their favorite scene from the book they chose for Character Day.

Projects are worth 100 points and will be counted as 1 test grade.

Dioramas are due Tuesday, November 8 (the day before Character Day).

Students will be graded on the following:

Accuracy
20 points
For example, characters and setting should be designed so they look as close as possible to how they are described in the book.
Neatness
20 points
No sloppy work please. These will be displayed for others to see and admire J
Originality/ creativity
40 points
The more ways you can creatively display your scene the better!
Oral presentation
20 points
On the due date, a short oral presentation will be done by each student to present their project to the class.

September's Student of the Month

One student in 3rd grade will be chosen by me (Sr. Sabrina) every month this year to be the Student of the Month.

Congratulations Saja!!! I am VERY proud of you :) 

Saja is a GREAT example and role model to her classmates. She is known for always being ready to learn. Saja is also well mannered, hardworking, friendly, helpful, and very smart. Keep up the EXCELLENT work and behavior Saja!!!

1. Spelling/ Vocabulary Test (Unit 1 Week 3)

Students should study using their Spelling/Vocabulary "cheat sheet" or notebook.

2. Grammar Test (subjects)
Students have practiced what the test will cover in classwork and homework throughout the week. Students should look over these at home and participate in reviews in class i.e. games, worksheets, etc. 


*If students receive any grade below an A on their comprehension or grammar test, they will receive extra practice worksheets that MUST be completed over the weekend and turned in on Monday.
*The teacher holds the right to change test dates. Students will be told in advanced if any changes will be made.

School Lunch

3rd graders must bring in $4.50 for each day they would like school lunch.

Pizza is served on Friday (unless there is an early dismissal) and each slice is $1.50.
